Search Tips
- Use the magnifying glass in the top right corner, to search the entirety of our processed materials and a portion of our unprocessed materials to conduct research and learn more about ESU’s history.
- ArchivesSpace provides the option to search by keyword, title, subject, creator, notes field, and unique identifiers. You are also able to narrow your search by establishing a date range, and by limiting the record type. Click on the plus symbol to add an additional term to your search.
- Once you complete the fields, click the blue search bar to see the results. You will be able to organize the search results by relevance, title, date, and identifier.
Helpful Tips
- Searches are not case sensitive.
- To search an exact phrase, use double quotes (e.g.
"Stroud Courier"). - If you simply search the word
“Stroud”it will return any results containing that word. - Enter search terms with AND between them to search for results that contain both terms.
- Enter search terms with OR between them to search for results that contain either of the terms.
Access
The ESU archives faculty and staff are more than happy to help you with your searches. If you would like to schedule a visit to our reading room to view materials in person, we are available Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm. The university archives are located at Kemp Library in East Stroudsburg.
